Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will perform high-level design based on provided external specifications. Specify, design and implement minor changes to existing software architecture. Build highly complex enhancements and resolve complex bugs. Build and execute unit tests and unit plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering as necessary to discuss minor changes to product functionality and to ensure quality and consistency across specific products.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

Position Summary:

This individual will be a member of OCI s (Oracle CloudInfrastructure) engineering organization operating a suite of massive scale,integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi-tenant cloudenvironment. The ideal candidate will be highly autonomous, very detailoriented and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Thisindividual should be proficient at operating in a SaaS, Cloud or Hybrid cloudenvironment.

As anengineer, this individual should have the ability to understand complexproblems and strike a good balance between business goals and technicalimplementations. This is a collaborative, fast-paced environment requiringstrong communication and teamwork as well as the ability to adapt to shiftingpriorities. On a given day this position offers opportunities to develop newfeatures, troubleshoot production, design and implement runtime monitoring,testing, auditing or metrics gathering.

Major Duties:

  • Assistin the design, development and ongoing improvement of existing and new systemsand architecture

  • Productionruntime operations, monitoring and improvements of Integrated Services

  • Implementand support OCI services and systems, including tooling and automation

  • Performtroubleshooting and coordinate problem resolution activities with engineeringand support teams

  • Establishand maintain productive relationships with peer service teams

  • ManageCIand CD tools within team and collaborate within larger automation organization

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver the items listed in the major duties section.

  • At least 3 years of operations engineering experience in SaaS Cloud or Hybrid Cloud Environments

  • Strong sense for API design. Experience with Swagger / OpenAPI

  • At least 3 years experience with Linux operating systems.

  • Experience with containers and supporting orchestration systems. Docker, Kubernetes

  • Experience with codingin Java, Python, and or Go.

  • Experience with configuration management systems, such as Chef,Ansible

  • Experience with cloud orchestration tools, such as Terraform

  • Strong commitment to TDD (Test Driven Development)

  • General knowledge of thefollowing categories of network systems: Multiprocessing, Threading,Distributed systems, Load Balancing and High Availability.

  • Excellent written andverbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability towork effectively across organizational boundaries and within groups.

  • Should be a flexible,resourceful, team player that is able to thrive in a fast-paced, constantlychanging environment.

  • Creative thinking andcritical analysis are essential.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience implementing cloud solutions

  • Experience with Jenkins, Team City, Bitbucket

  • Experience with Database as a Service

  • Worked with JIRA and Confluence

  • Knowledge of Internet protocols and standards, including DNS,REST, TLS and HTTP

  • Knowledge of DevOps
