Optima is a fast growing I.T. software and services firm based in New Jersey which specializes in providing Business Automation and IT Consulting Services to enterprise customers across North America. Currently, one of our premier client s is a seeking a Project Manager with healthcare provider experience for an initial 6 month contracting role. Contract extension is possible provided the consultant exceeds client expectations.
As a member of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Program Office, manage multiple workstreams relative to extending patient registration and inpatient EHR system (Soarian) to Correctional Health Services for use in various adult correctional facilities.
Work with the business stakeholders to define business requirements; then work with technical teams (both internal client resources and external vendor resources) to deliver projects / workstreams successfully in a Waterfall environment.
Work with cross functional teams and develop detailed project plan including the schedule, work breakdown structure and assignment of resources/teams.
Facilitate and ensure completion of unit, systems and integrating testing in accordance to testing strategy.
Manage and track classic project management deliverables including schedules, budget, scope, change management, resource allocation plans, risks and issues, and executive status reporting).
Develop and maintain a customer-focused relationship with business stakeholders and external vendor partners by exhibiting a high level of collaboration, timely communication and responsiveness.
7 to 10 years of experience as an I.T. Project Manager managing medium to large sized projects ($500K -$5M); including experience in managing multiple projects/workstreams concurrently.
Project Management experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in the EHR/Provider space.
Extensive experience managing full SDLC application development and/or systems integration projects from inception through delivery in a Waterfall environment.
Experience managing multiple project teams (15 plus resources) in a fast-paced and matrixed environment.
Vendor management experience (i.e. managing the software delivery of an external vendor).
Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, facilitate the Project Steering Committee and work collaboratively with resources at various levels within the organization (including executives, C-suite, providers, nurses, pharmacists and other office staff).
Strong leadership, team building and relationship building skills.
Must have excellent stakeholder management skills; is confident engaging with all levels of personnel including executive level management, and ability to gain consensus with key stakeholders.
Ability to work autonomously, be a self-starter, take things and run with it , solid Risk Management & Change Management skills; and comfortable with reporting and escalating issues early and often to executive level stakeholders.
Proficient in Microsoft Project.
Any experience in working in the healthcare public sector is a plus.
